Where can I find my vehicle's VIN number?
Every vehicle has a unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This number is a 17-digit code that contains important information about the vehicle, such as its make, model, and year.
- Check your dashboard — the most common place to find a vehicle’s VIN is on the dashboard on the driver's side near the lower left corner of the windshield.
- Check the door jamb — the VIN is also printed on a plate that is mounted on the driver’s side door jamb. This plate is typically located near the latch mechanism.
- Check registration or insurance card — the VIN can also be found on your vehicle’s registration and insurance documents.
