Every vehicle has a unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This number is a 17-digit code that contains important information about the vehicle, such as its make, model, and year.
- Look at the dashboard:
- The most common place to find a vehicle’s VIN is on the dashboard. It is usually located near the lower right corner of the windshield, near the driver’s side.
- Look at the door jamb:
- The VIN is also printed on a plate that is mounted on the driver’s side door jamb. This plate is typically located near the latch mechanism.
- The VIN can also be found on the vehicle’s registration and insurance documents.
