# Update the Pulse Voices app on an Android phone using the Google Play Store

## Keeping the Pulse Labs app updated on your Android phone ensures you'll always have access to the latest features, improvements, and studies. 

Follow these steps to update your Android phone via the Google Play Store.

1. Locate the **Google Play Store** icon on your phone's home screen or app drawer and select to open.
2. Search for the Pulse Labs app using the search bar. 
3. Select the Pulse Labs app from the search results.
4. Update the app, if applicable.
   
     - If an update is available for the Pulse Labs app, an **Update** button displays. Select it to download and install the update.
     - If an **Open** button displays, the app is already updated to its latest version.
5. The download and installation progress is shown on the app's detail page. Wait for the update process to complete.
6. Launch the updated app. Select **Open** directly from the Google Play Store or select the Pulse Labs app icon on your phone to launch it.

#### **Tips**

- **Enable auto-updates:** On the Pulse Labs app page in the Google Play Store, tap the three vertical dots (⋮) in the top right corner and check **Enable auto update**.
- **Use Wi-Fi connection:** Updates can sometimes be large in size. It's a good idea to be connected to a Wi-Fi network when updating apps to avoid potential extra data charges.
- **Check battery level:** Make sure you have sufficient battery life to complete the update or have your device plugged in.

#### **Troubleshooting**

- **Update not working:** If you're having issues updating the Pulse Labs app, try restarting your phone and then attempt the update again.
- **Insufficient storage:** If there’s not enough storage on your device, you might need to clear some space by deleting unused apps, files, or media.
- **App malfunction after update:** The app may not work correctly post-update. If this happens, consider uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it from the Play Store.
