How to set up the GoPro and it's mounting equipment
To mount the GoPro in your car:
- You have two options for setting up your GoPro in the car. Use the suction cup and attach the mount either to the passenger side of the car's windshield or, if equipped, glass roof/sunroof. Once securely in place, adjust the arm, the "Gooseneck," by bending and twisting it until the camera is correctly pointed at your vehicle's infotainment screen.
To make it easier for you to visualize, we have included two pictures below.
- After setting up the GoPro, it's essential to check the view in the GoPro app to make sure your video is clear and the full screen of your car's infotainment system is visible.
We have attached a picture for your reference, illustrating the ideal view. Please verify the camera is aligned accordingly to capture the infotainment area properly. -
Try out a couple of common driving motions to make sure your view and movements are not obstructed. Move the mount to a more secure location if needed. This way, you can be certain that your GoPro will record the interactions with the infotainment system seamlessly.
Tips for the GoPro mounting accessories:
Adjusting the mount
We ship the camera with two 'Gooseneck' mounts and one 'Suction Cup' mount. Depending on your car's design, you may need to remove one of the Goosenecks to make it shorter. To do this, follow the steps below. You can do the same for any of the connections, if needed.
Squeeze the end tabs of one of the connections
After squeezing the tabs, slide them through the locking mechanism
To attach your suction cup to a surface:
Recommend securing to windshield, sunroof, glass roof, or glossy/smooth interior trim pieces. It may be helpful to clean the surface and suction cup prior to attaching.
To attach, start by putting the suction cup firmly on a clean, smooth surface
Press the button that says "Press"
Push the lever down and the suction cup should be firmly attached
To remove your suction cup from a surface:
Similar to installation steps but in reverse, with a little trick! Helpful for adjusting mount location or taking it inside.
Flip the lever up
Gently tug on the flap until the suction is released
You can now relocate or remove your camera mount!
