How do I find the serial number on my computer?

Finding the serial number on Windows or Mac computer.

For Windows devices:
  1. Type CMD in the Start menu and open a Command Prompt window.
  2. Type wmic bios get serialnumber and then press Enter. The serial number displays.

You can also look for a serial number (SN:) sticker on the underside of your device.

For Mac OS devices:

  1. Select the Apple menu in the upper left corner of your screen.
  2. Select About This Mac from the dropdown. The serial number is listed in the About This Mac window.
