Some studies are limited to residents of specific countries
-
Why is location verification needed?
Some studies are particularly designed for certain locations only. Location verification allows us to ensure eligibility for these studies. This process lets us validate the location of participants, reduces the risk of fraudulent activities, and determines eligibility for studies.
-
How is the location verified?
Our app runs four checks to verify user location: VPN, proxy, Tor, and Relay.
- VPN checks detect if users are masking their IP address, proxy checks uncover IP redirections.
- Tor checks identify anonymized networks.
- Relay checks detect traffic rerouting through intermediaries.
These checks are crucial to ensure users are genuinely within the required geographic area for our study, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our data.
-
Why was my location verification rejected?
Location verification could have been rejected due to any of the following reasons. If you have any of these services active, please disable them:
- VPN: Turn off the VPN service in your device’s settings or VPN app.
- Proxy: Disable proxy settings in your browser or device’s network settings.
- Tor: Exit the Tor browser and use a standard web browser.
- Relay: Ensure no network relay services are active in your network settings or software.
