How do I format my GoPro SD card?

If you run into issues with the GoPro, it may be necessary to format the SD card manually. (All recorded footage will be lost.)

Follow these steps to clear your GoPro's SD memory card.

  1. On the GoPro, swipe down on the touch screen, swipe sideways to the far right, and select Preferences.

  2. Scroll down and select Reset.

  3. Select Format SD Card.

  4. Select Format. This action will delete all files from the SD card.
